The openVZ virtualization technology is the worlds leading OS virtualization technology. It allows creation of multiple isolated containers on a single server. Every container has its own operating system version and guaranteed resources.
When compared to other virtualization technologies openVZ allows for much better density, performance and control over the containers.

Performance

The openVZ performance is comparable to that of a native server. This is possible because openVZ does not emulate hardware, instead the OS inside the container used hardware drivers of the server. This allows for superior performance. This makes it possible for containers to be used for relatively high I/O scenarios like a database application or as a mail server.

Scalability

openVZ are also extremely well scalable. No reboots are needed to change the amount of resources dedicated to a container. This allows for seamless and instance upgrades and downgrades of your virtual server.

Templates and Deployment

openVZ supports an easy to use template system, which allows for almost instant deployment of containers. Additionally, templates are fully customizable, allowing you to create your own templates with applications already configured in a template.

Management Tools

All our virtual servers come with a SolusVM control panel. This is a full solution to virtual server management. It allows you to reload operating systems, reboot and fully manage your server with ease.
In addition to this it allows us to make online backups of your servers. No reboot is required, all is done in a seamless manner. In the same way, if a physical node has a fault, servers can be easily migrated to a fully working node. This provides high availability to your server.
